Raithanathal Nessin

War Wizard

Level 4

Raith came to the D'Rahng Academy for war wizards after the death of his father, a wealthy noble from Heliogabalus, Damara who had been killed in the war against the Witch King. Raith wanted to join the cause and avenge his father, he chose Bloodstones War Wizard Corps in memory of his mother whose spirit he can hear to this day in the rustle of leaves or the warm breath of a spring day....

It all began like this….Raith's father was a notable scholar, and could see the signs of the gift practically bursting from the lad since he was a toddler. It seems that young Raith has magic literally running in his blood.

Raith's father Jael was a scholar and had traveled many places involved in one never ending research project or another and it was during one of these sabbaticals that Jael met Raith's mother, Lieriana a powerful wizardess from the mystic lands of Halrua in the Shining South. Jael married Lieriana and within a year they bore a son together. After a few year traveling much and neglecting his research even more than that, Jael made the decision the move entirely from Damara down to Halrua; no easy means made you for Jael's Library and Laboratory were of great size and value. And so it was, that through messengers, Jael dispatched his closest allies and his servants to begin the cataloging and packing of Jael's great collection. This project took several years to develop, and by the time it was finished and ready, young Raith was a remarkable young boy almost 10 years old. Raith had taken on all the traits of his mother along with his father’s quick wit and charm. However, aside from that he bore almost all his mothers features. He shared her dark olive skin and silky black hair. His eyes were a deep emerald green, just like hers. And above all else, Raith had inherited from both his mother and his father an insatiable taste for knowledge, both of the mundane and the arcane.

Eventually, in the year that Raith turned 12 yrs old, Raith's father, Jael, returned to Damara to retrieve the remaining of his work and of course his wealth. The journey home would take many months, and so Lieriana and Raith waited without worry for a whole year, studying with his mother Raith learned much playing magical tricks and games the games disguised the training she was giving him and he loved it the more knowledge she fed him, all the more he wanted. When Raith had time alone, he enjoyed exploring the lush wilderness and marveling at the flying ships occasionally seen here and there and exploring ruins in the high hills near the great crystal towers and spires of glass soaring into the sky. One day when young Raith was out on one of his exploration missions, a fair voice called to him by his full name, Raithanathal Nesinn. Looking up and all around, but seeing nothing he called to the voice " Who are you?" The voice spoke to him again whispering on a slight breeze, rustling the leaves as it blew on and this time Raith recognized the voice as his mothers. She whispered her love for him and told him she had to go into the next world and so did he, though making the journey separately. "Why?" Raith called " Where must we go?" "Where must I go?" But the voice was gone leaving just a quiet echo of love. When calling out got no results, Raith raced off to home. As he reached the house and blasted-literally and unknowingly- through the door, he repeatedly called out for his mother. But his cries were not heard Raith was alone. A week passed and then two as Raith wandered the house wondering what to do he was sorting through a stack of parchments that were stacking up on the dinner table. One paper caught his eye it was hastily written in his father’s elegant letters and 3 words made Raith's stomach sink.

                                                War!! Damara!! Vassa!!
